The American Red Cross Basic Life Support classroom only-r.25 course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to quickly assess recognize and care for cardiac arrest provide high-quality CPR and use an AED to optimize patient outcomes. Designed for both in-hospital and out-of-hospital healthcare clinicians this training is consistent with the 2025 evidence-based science guidelines and covers additional life-threatening emergencies including respiratory arrest drowning opioid overdose myocardial infarction life-threatening bleeding and obstructed airway in adults children and infants. Participants attend an in-person session fully taught by an Instructor that includes knowledge-based learning and hands-on skill practice. Participants are required to successfully demonstrate skill competency during skills practice and testing scenarios and pass a final exam to earn an American Red Cross Basic Life Support certificate valid for two years.
PAYMENT: Prepayment is required and is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, you can transfer to another prescheduled course if needed. Below is more information about rescheduling:
The rescheduled class date must be within three (3) months of your initially scheduled class. Failure to complete the course in the given time will result in the student forfeiting their registration payment, and the student will be required to purchase the course again.
Students can transfer their registration to another course date without a fee only when they notify Live Safe no later than noon (12 PM) the business day before the originally scheduled course. This can be done only once.
Students that No-Show to a course must contact Live Safe to reschedule.
300 minutes is the minimum amolunt of time to complete skills session. Note: Class time can be extended to ensure all material is covered following the Red Cross Guidelines.
